Definitely not a ‘world-class’ bus service!

An elderly man fears his wife might be fired due to the Metrobus 'disservice'.

I have to agree with Gillian Stacey (previous Metrobus-related letter).

This service – or let us call it what it is, a disservice – is definitely not a world-class bus service.

If it is , I would hate to see a third-world bus service.

My wife also uses the Metrobus daily from Witpoortjie, but we never know if it will be on time or arrive at all.

We purchase a pre-paid ticket, and when the bus does not arrive (or arrives too late) I have to take her to work by car.

This adds additional expenses to our monthly budget.

I cannot work, due to ill health, therefore she has to keep the home fires burning.

We are both in our mid-sixties.

As a result of the late arrival or non-arrival of the bus, she has received warning letters for constantly being late at work.

I am worried that this could result in her being fired.

This is totally unacceptable, Metrobus. A ‘world-class African city’?

My foot.
