Florida Lake Canoe Club is looking forward to having another good year!

Wow, it’s nearly the end of 2024 already!
The Florida Lake has had its fair share of problems this year. From water leaks at the dam wall to us seeing the lowest water levels in the past 50 years, as well as the multiple bird deaths from an avian flu virus. This virus was also found in other areas throughout Gauteng, and also ongoing sewerage pollution into our water courses throughout SA.
However, after a windy and noticeably cold winter, summer has arrived and paddlers got back onto the water in groups of all ages recently having great fun in nature.
With recent canoeing races and open days at the club, the enjoyment of this watersport is noticeable, and we look forward to the new year!
May 2025 be all you ever hoped for. We will all strive to achieve some goals, realise some dreams, and hold tight to what we love and enjoy.
