- 10 October: King of the Astro
King of the Astro Indoor Soccer and Legends Indoor Soccer arena are proud to host King of the Astro Tournament.
Teams are invited to join the action packed day, where family, fun and football become a triple threat.
The public is advised to go to Randburg Sports Complex, Legends indoor soccer arena at 8am.
It will cost R1 500 per 6-a-side team with a maximum of 10 players. Prizes are 1st place – R150 00, 2nd place – R3 500 and 3rd place – R1 500.

- 11 October: SPAR Women’s 10km Challenge
It is time for the women of Joburg to take to the roads and join the SPAR Women’s 10km Challenge at the Wanderers Sporting Club.
The 10km Challenge and the 5km Fun Run have become an important part of the Joburg social calendar, with thousands of women of all ages, and from all walks of life, taking part. The 10km route takes the runners along Corlett Drive and Oxford Road as far as Riviera Road in Killarney. The 5km route meanders through the plush suburbs of Illovo, Melrose, Birdhaven and Atholl-Oaklands. Entry costs are: 10km – R70 and 5km – R70 at the Wanderers Club. - 25 October: 10th Annual Avon Justine iThemba Walkathon
Walk For A Purpose at the 10th Annual Avon Justine iThemba Walkathon taking place at Marks Park, Emmarentia. The event will start with a 7.9km and a 5km walk at 8am and 8.30am respectively with livewire entertainment from an array of performers, numerous enterprising food stalls and other activities available for participants to enjoy when they finish their walk. Adults pay R100 while children under 12 pay R75 to participate and toddlers up to the age of two enter for free. You can also register at the venue from 19 -24 October for R 130 adults and R75 for children.
