Roodies urges community to participate in annual Run The North Race

Roodepoort Athletics Club is urging community members to join them at their 24th Anniversary of the Run The North 10km or 5km road race that will be held on Sunday, October 16 at Northgate Shopping Centre.

According to Roodies media liaison officer Vincent Meyer, anybody is welcome to enter the race, but there will be no entries on race day and pre-entries will close on Monday, October 9.

The starting gun will be fired at 07:00 on race day. T-shirts are available to the first 800 entries of the 10km race and the first 100 entries of the 5km race.

The fee for the 10km race is R120, however if runners or walkers are not registered with an athletics club, they will be required to pay an additional fee of R30 for a temporary licence.

Participants will pay R60 for the 5km race. No licences are required for this race and everybody is welcome to participate.

The entry fee for either the 5km and the 109km for grand masters is R50.
