Triple Threat Dojo have recorded another outstanding performance at the Great North Tournament.

The multi-code martial arts festival is one of the premier events of the combat sport calendar and was held at Danie van Zyl Recreation Centre on Saturday October 29. Wade Rendall’s dojo sent four fighters to the annual competition with each doing their Ruimsig-based home proud.

The iron-thorn among the roses, Rachelle Seyfferdt competed in both the light-contact and kick-light sections, winning bronze and gold medals, respectively. Christo Ankersmit also competed in those two categories, winning bronze in the light-contact and gold in the kick-light. Learnmore Momberume earned the dojo’s third gold medal of the day standing tallest after the full-contact gauntlet.

Brett Heslop has been a shining light for Triple Threat this year and has just returned from Italy where he represented South Africa at the Junior World Kickboxing Championships at the beginning of October. Competing in both the light-contact and kick-light sections, Heslop would dominate to leave the 2022 Great North Tournament as a double gold medallist.

An ecstatic Triple Threat owner, Rendell was full of praise for his warriors, saying, “This was a phenomenal performance by our fighters who have shown great dedication and passion for their art. This was an especially amplified experience for Coach Wade who considers this his home ground as this is where he got his start in Kickboxing training with Shihan Shorne Moorncroft. We are excited for the challenges that the future holds for our unprecedented dojo.”
