Music and wrestling play out at NG Kerk Culembeeck’s yearly bazaar

According to the organiser, the main aim with every bazaar is to bring families closer and to have them spending time together.

Saturday, October 29 saw music and wrestling become the highlights of the NG Kerk Culembeeck’s annual bazaar to mark the church’s biggest fundraising event for the year.

The event was held at the NG Kerk Culembeeck in Witpoortjie from 9:00 to 15:00 where members of the community enjoyed a variety of entertainment.

According to the organiser Chantal Kent (Venter), the main aim with every bazaar is to bring families closer and to have them spending time together.

“At first, we had Lu-Anél, with a wonderful voice that sang to us until 11:30 and at 12:30 the wrestling started until 14:00. We had food stalls, tombola and lots to keep the youngsters busy, it was a day filled with laughter and blessings,” said Chantal.

Honour Wrestling Association (HWA) wrestlers Azazel, Matthew Hammer, Ripper, Gene The Rejected Clown, Steve Eden and Hector Payne quickly gathered up the crowd who cheered on and witnessed the athletes put their bodies on the line.

“HWA Wrestling has always given back to the community, when the church asked us to perform at the church to help raise funds we immediately agreed to be involved,” HWA Wrestling’s owner Steve Eden.

Steve said that HWA Wrestling is currently busy with their Summer Slam Tour with their next shows being in Boksburg, Phalaborwa, Rustenburg, Brakpan and Pretoria.
