Local school’s children sing their hearts out at ODI

Mini-cricket players from Arthur Matthews had the opportunity to not only perform at the ODI but also sing the national anthem with the Proteas.

Five learners from Arthur Matthews Primary School were invited to sing the national anthem along with the Proteas for a One Day International.

Mandisa Mpembe, a teacher at the school stated the learners from grades 1–3 were invited by the Lions Cricket KFC Mini-Cricket team to have the honour of singing with the national team on September 17. She added the learners are all KFC mini-cricket players.

She noted it was a life-changing moment for them all – the children and the parents. She explained the children were so proud they were even crying and they even got to hold the player’s hands.
