Gymnasts make their mark abroad

Competing among Olympic champions, the Visions Gymnastics team held their own and gained invaluable international exposure.

A talented group of gymnasts from Vision Gymnastics travelled to Beijing, China, in November to compete in two tournaments.

The team competed in both the Sky Grace Cup International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament and the Beijing Top Rhythmic Gymnastics International Open, marking a major milestone for the club and its athletes.

Hanaa Mia, Deborah Britz, Qhawekazi Nzimande, Boipelo Khomo, and Sinead de Wet, who form part of the junior Olympic group, were joined by senior Olympic individual competitor Hanna Muir, all under the guidance of their coach Alexia Bazzo.

According to Alexia, the team delivered steady routines and gained valuable insights that can only come from international exposure, despite not bringing their strongest results of the season.

“For their first international event, they held their nerve and showed real belief in themselves. The combination of excitement and awe created an unforgettable atmosphere that pushed the girls to embrace both the challenge and international experience,” she adds.
