Martial arts gym launches youth programme to build confidence and discipline

The gym helps young people develop self-assurance and self-control and become future champions.

The FightRight Mixed Martial Arts Gym has officially launched a Youth Programme designed to empower children and teenagers through martial arts and fitness.

According to the founder, Rodney Swanepoel, this initiative focuses on developing physical health, discipline, confidence, and essential life skills in a structured and supportive environment.

“FightRight has built a reputation for transforming lives through martial arts. Our mission has always been to build stronger, more confident, and disciplined individuals physically and mentally,” Swanepoel said.

“With the Youth Programme, we’re extending this mission to the next generation, helping young people develop skills that will benefit them both on and off the mat,” he added.

The programme is designed to be inclusive and accessible, welcoming children of all skill levels. Participants engage in fun and structured training sessions that teach goal-setting, perseverance, teamwork, and respect, alongside physical fitness and martial arts techniques. The combination of mental and physical development ensures students grow holistically.

FightRight is affiliated with Gracie Barra, a global Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu organisation. Swanepoel believes this partnership guarantees high-quality instruction, world-class training standards, and the opportunity for students to connect with a wider martial arts community.

Beyond fitness, the Youth Programme promotes mental well-being, healthy lifestyle habits, and positive social interaction. Community events, workshops, and competitions are also part of the programme, encouraging family involvement and strengthening local ties.
