Ruimsig parkrun sees great turnout
Parkrun volunteers and fellow runners cheered for everyone as they approached the finish line.
Almost 400 people filled the Ruimsig Athletics Stadium on Saturday, May 16, to take part in the parkrun.

Runners and walkers of all ages arrived early for the 5km event, which continues to grow in popularity in the area.

Friends, families, and fitness lovers made their way around the course, with many cheering each other on at the finish line.
Keegan Marais was the first runner home, finishing in a time of 18 minutes and 11 seconds. Lucas Beza crossed the line second in 20:40, followed closely by Daniel Whitwell in 20:43. The fourth finisher was recorded as unknown, while Alexander Maartens completed the top five with a time of 23:15.

The parkrun continues to attract support from residents every Saturday morning, and the event welcomes people of all ages and fitness levels who are interested in wellness and fitness to either run or walk the 5km route.
