Constantia Kloof Primary School (CKPS) officially welcomed its first-team netball players at its annual kit handover ceremony on April 13.

According to the organiser of the ceremony, Adri van Wyk, the initiative is rooted in recognising the hard work and perseverance shown by players throughout the season.

“By creating a formal and memorable occasion, the programme aims to reinforce confidence, accountability, and unity, while strengthening the overall sporting culture,” she said.
“Selection for the first team was based on a comprehensive evaluation process. Players earned their place through consistent performance during trials and practices, as well as through their teamwork, attitude, and commitment. Coaches also emphasised the importance of coachability and a positive work ethic in final decisions,” Adri added.

The event featured several special moments, with each player individually receiving her kit, accompanied by words of encouragement from the coaching staff. Parents attended in support, contributing to a strong sense of community and shared pride.

One of the highlights was the visible excitement of the players as they stepped forward to receive their kits. Players also performed the school’s netball drill, officially introducing them to the team and its culture.
The kit handover remains a valued tradition at the school, celebrating achievement while encouraging players to uphold the values of teamwork, dedication and excellence throughout the season.
