Young riders impress at MTB competition

The riders gave their best performances throughout the trails and left with outstanding results.

Young cyclists from Ithuba Development Club put in a strong performance at the Summer Fast One MTB 2026 held in Randvaal earlier this year.

Spectrum Sport organises the race and is part of the Gauteng Provincial XCM series.

The 25km race saw boys in the Sprogs category (young children) take on a tough route with gravel roads, Jeep tracks, and single-track sections.

The top three were separated by just a few seconds. Siyanda Ncube finished fourth in 54:17, followed closely by Triston Engelbrecht in fifth place with 54:18.

More Ithuba riders filled the rest of the top 10 list. Keenan Pienaar and Lufuno Michael Nanjee both finished in 56:49, Aiden Smits came in at 57:16, Callan Gordon at 58:58, and Toby Spitteler rounded off the top 10 in 59:02.

While the results are being celebrated at the club, the riders continue refining their skills in preparation for future competitions.
