Jazz on the Lake attracts a big crowd

PARKVIEW – Community members ushered in spring while enjoying an afternoon of jazz at Zoo Lake.

Over 19 800 people attended the 27th annual Jazz on the Lake event at Zoo Lake on 1 September. The free event sought to bring together jazz lovers from across the city for a fun day for the whole family.

Entertainment included Cuba’s rising star and multi-awarded alto saxophone phenomenon Michel Herrera, formidable South African jazz band Tune Recreation Committee and more. Journalist Sarah Koning was there to capture all the action.
