Neil Barrow put his skills to test
EMMARENTIA - With seven years of paddling experience, Neil Barrow, put his skills to the test at the 18km race in Trichardspruit River near Secunda.

Barrow, a member of the Dabulamanzi Canoe Club at Emmarentia Dam, is also a lifelong Melrose resident.
He was part of the paddlers from Gauteng participated in the race and got their adrenalin pumping.
They improved their ability and experience on the faster paced busy demanding piece
Barrow had finished the tricky Swartlands River race on the Berg River and becoming more skillful in the K1 discipline, enjoyed a successful race on the very challenging spruit.
The race consisted of a few kms on the dam, 10km on the river as it hurtled down to the second dam, and the final couple of km across there to the finish, was completed in 47th position overall, and 1 hour 49 minutes as the 26th single canoe in the race.
A large number of learners gaining points also participated in the race for the more advanced experience and while most finished comfortably.
