Verity Park hosts Parkhurst Village Fair after eight-year hiatus
Local businesses joined forces with Praboa to make Parkhurst Village Fair a success.
Community members gathered at Verity Park on October 3 for a full day of food, music, entertainment, wellness and family fun at the Parkhurst Village Fair.
The annual event, hosted by the Parkhurst Residents and Business Owners Association (Praboa), transformed the venue into a lively gathering with local businesses serving food and drinks, children exploring the Kids’ Zone and dogs joining their owners.

Praboa chairperson Mike Rosholt welcomed the turnout, noting that this was the second edition of the reborn fair following an eight-year hiatus. “Last year the weather was poor, whereas this year the weather is good and we have more vendors, which shows growth of the event,” said Rosholt.
Rosholt expected approximately 4 000 people to attend, with proceeds earmarked for charities in the community.
“We also have an operation budget which will go towards the parks we take care of, which includes this park and three other parks. We keep the park in the community,” Rosholt said.

Simon Butler, chief commercial officer at Vuma, expressed delight at the strong turnout.
“You can feel the energy across the park, from the children getting involved in the creative activities to families and their dogs moving between the different areas. We’re really pleased to be here and to play a part in making the day special for the community,” said Butler.
Rawson Properties Parkhurst co-owners Angelo Tyler and Wayne Segers collaborated with Rachel Jansen van Rensburg, owner of Rawson Properties Blairgowrie, as leading teams in the northern suburbs supporting local communities.
“We have collaborated to sponsor this event and we’ve done that because we wanted a way to give back and this was one,” Tyler said.
“My partner and I have lived in Parkhurst for over a decade and wanted to be part of an event that was fun while bringing the community together.”
