College dazzles with colour and music

Thousands of spectators and the majestic buildings of St John's College were illuminated by a blaze of colour and light at the college's annual firework spectacular, On The Night.

The breathtaking display accompanied by the college’s symphony orchestra was the highlight of a fun-filled afternoon for pupils, their families and friends.

Visitors had been encouraged to bring picnic baskets and find a spot on the Burger field for performances by the college’s jazz, big, and contemporary bands, St Mary’s jazz band, the college’s symphony orchestra, and the fireworks.

Sports fans were treated to a screening of the rugby championship between South Africa and Australia, a selection of food stalls kept hungry mouths fed, and children could enjoy various games and fun activities.

The night was brought to a foot-stomping close with an after-party featuring 5fm DJ Euphonik on the decks.
