Kes won 10, placed second in four, and third in three of the 20 events in which the athletes participated.
“The athletes set 13 personal best performances of the two-day competition. Overall, Kes scored an average of 1080 points per event, and were placed second out of 44 schools, including top athletics schools like Helpmekaar, Affies, Monument, Kempton Park and EG Jansen,” said Lisa Slooten of Kes.
Kes pupil Menzi Mthembu was awarded the prize for best U19 male athlete, and schoolmate Patrick Duvenage received awards for best male athlete overall, best male throwing athlete, and best U15 male athlete.
