Hosting schools hungry for a win

The KES Easter Rugby Festival is reportedly the most supported schoolboy event in South Africa.

This was according to online rugby magazine, www.keo.co.za.

The magazine reported that the KES had a reported total of 36 000 spectators show up for their 2012 event.

The 12th installment of the KES Easter Rugby Festival didn’t disappoint either as it saw a pool of schools from all around the country gather to play some much anticipated clashes.

Probably one of the best thing about the KES Festival is that neighbouring school St Johns also runs its rugby festival concurrently – spectators can attend both festivals and pick and choose which games they wanted to watch.

The distance between the school is a short 400m walk.

The festivals saw the streets of Houghton fill up with not only high school goers but as well as some Old Boys and many rugby fanatics.

Today, 21 April, marks the end of both festivals and the games are expected to be the best from the weekend with both KES and St John’s looking for a win after their disappointing losses on day two of the event.
