Art, food and wine in Saxonwold
Marlise le Roux's next solo exhibition is set to open with a "wine, art and food extravaganza" this month.
Le Roux said that the exhibition will be opened by musical phenomenon Chris Chameleon, who will also perform a special concert.
The catering will be done by 5 Star Street Chef, a food truck that specialises in fine dining cuisine.
“I’ve hosted three very successful solo and group exhibitions of South Africa’s top artists in the last two years, opened by Ashley Hayden, Ian Roberts and Rian van Heerden,” she said.
Le Roux, known for her liberal use of bright, bold colours, grew up painting in her mother Isabel’s studio.
She said that, by the time she had completed her legal studies at the then-Rand Afrikaans University, she knew she wasn’t cut out for a career in law, and opted to follow in her mother’s artistic footsteps.
The exhibition will open on 10 June at Saxonwold Art Events Gallery, 11 Englewold Drive, Saxonwold, at 6.30pm.
Booking is essential.
