Initial report: It was reported by The Independent Media Group Online that an incident occurred outside The Star building where two of their own staff members were involved in an altercation that has left one in critical condition and the other facing a charge of attempted murder.

Damian Warner, who has now come out of an induced coma, was the victim of the attack and sustained injuries including broken ribs, a compound fracture to his spine, a fracture to his collarbone and a punctured lung which must be operated on this week.

The Independent Media chief of staff, Zenariah Barends, initiated the proceedings to lay the charge of attempted murder against Damian’s attacker.

When Barends was contacted for further information about the incident she referred reporters back to their own article and refused to disclose more information pertaining to the attack.
