It is funny how our traffic lights can be smashed upon the ground and still work, however when there is a spot of rain they seem to shut themselves down.

The traffic lights on the corner of Louis Botha and Main streets in Rouxville have been out of order since 24 December last year.

The residents of Main Street have logged numerous complaints with the Johannesburg Road Agency, however they have yet to send out the appropriate staff to fix the problem.

The robots are located at a busy intersection and it is difficult to see that they are there in the dark. It is purely a matter of time before there is a serious accident.

How can you help or notify the municipality?

Get in touch with your ward councillors who shall be able to follow up on issues and depending on the situation, offer you assistance.

They can be found on joburg.org.za or lodge a complaint with the Johannesburg Road Agency on 0860 562 874.
