Three men arrested in Yeoville for stolen property

YEOVILLE - Three men were arrested for possession of stolen property at the corner of Hopkins and Cavendish streets in Yeoville on 27 February.

The Yeoville police were informed of three men acting suspiciously. Upon investigation they found that the suspects were removing sim cards from cellphones. The items that were in possession of the suspects were reported stolen in Centurion on the same day.

Constable Thabo Malatji of the Yeoville police said, “When they were asked by the police why they were in possession of the cellphones and removing the sim cards, the suspects were unable to account for why they were in possession of the cellphones.”

The suspects were arrested and detained at the Yeoville Police Station and are expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court.
