According to a post on Facebook by security company CSS Tactical, a black Audi with the number plate BH49HNGP has been involved in three armed robberies in Craighall Park.
When approached for comment, CSS Tactical Security refused, stating that the incident was still under investigation.
Station commander Colonel Nanda Moodley confirmed that while there had been a robbery, he was unable to confirm the details of the car.
“Yes, there was a house robbery in Craighall, however I am unable to confirm the make and model of the car yet,” he said.
Moodley also confirmed that there were two house robberies in Parktown North and Parkhurst.
According to Moodley, a blue BMW was involved in a robbery in Parkhurst at around 11.30am on 7 April.
He urged residents to be extremely vigilant and report any suspicious vehicles to the police or security companies.
Investigations are currently under way.
