Man bust for dealing gets attempted bribe charge added

JOHANNESBURG- A MAN has been arrested for allegedly dealing in dagga at the corner of Raleigh and Fortesque streets in Yeoville on 24 May.

 

Yeoville police were on a routine stop and search when they noticed a man standing at the corner behaving suspiciously.

Constable Thabo Malatji of Yeoville police said, “Police approached the suspect and searched him. They found 32 packets of dagga hidden in his jacket and he was informed of his arrest.”

According to Malatji, the suspect (24) tried to bribe the police and they added a charge of bribery against him.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court soon.
