Educating the South African youth

JOBURG - Education is one of the most important parts of a child's development, and so the SABC will bring their ninth annual consecutive African Education Eduweek back to Gallagher Estate Convention Centre in Midrand, to unlock the minds of the youth and their educational facilitators.

SABC will be bringing a world of education from 1 to 2 July.

Their annual eduweek will allow the public to meet with over 120 international and local suppliers of educational products or services and choose from more than 100 hours of free-to-attend EduTheatre sessions and teacher training and development workshops.

The exciting, must-see feature of the exhibition is E-tech, which will take exhibition-goers to the future of education in South Africa by putting together technology and education and discovering a new world of viable educational innovations to be used in schools.

There will not only be an exhibition of the latest educational products and services, with EduTheatre sessions and workshops, but also a number of keynote addresses made to the public by a number of influential education facilitators from around the continent, including vice-chancellor and principal of Wits Universty, Adam Habib; and Grant Bulumo, the director and lead consultant of Neogenics Education Ghana.

The product and services exhibitions will be displayed around the convention centre with two EduTheatre’s as the main attraction of the weekend, where the keynote speakers will talk to the public and the workshops will take place.

In order to provide everyone in the country with an equal opportunity to make education a number one priority, the weekend of activities and events will be free to attend.

There will also be a networking function over the course of the weekend, as well as the annual industry awards to be held at the centre, among the numerous other activities that will be available throughout the duration of the convention.
