JRA is in the process of putting an end to a 10-year underground water leak in Fort Street

JRA is expected to complete construction of the subsoil drainage system on Fort Street in two weeks.

Fort Street’s long-term underground water leak in Illovo will soon come to an end after the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) confirmed on July 13 that it was constructing a subsoil drainage system to address the excess underground water affecting the area.

JRA acting head of regional operations, Mpho Maruping, explained, “The team is expected to complete the subsoil drainage system in the next two weeks.

Upon completion of the drainage works, an asphalt team will commence with the reinstatement of the affected road surface and sidewalk.
