Constable Thabo Malatji of Yeoville police said, “Three suspects attempted to rob a female while she was on her way to work. They cornered her and demanded that she hand over her bag.”
According to Malatji, the men allegedly threatened her with a knife and she screamed for help. A security guard nearby heard her and came to her rescue.
“Two of the suspects were apprehended and the police were called to the scene. A knife was found in possession of one of the men,” added Malatji.
The suspects were detained at Yeoville Police Station and are expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court on charges of robbery and possession of dangerous weapon.
