According to Chad Thomas, founder and chairman of IRS, the case was opened at the Hillbrow Police Station as Parktown falls within the Hillbrow policing precinct.
Thomas said, “IRS was initially appointed to investigate the case and escalated it to the South African Police Service.”
According to Thomas, the allegations are of a serious nature and involve a mining contract in excess of R50 million.
“Our initial findings suggest that there is a case to be answered to,” added Thomas.
According to Thomas, they have requested that the docket be escalated to the Directorate Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks).
