Four suspects bust for possession of stolen property

YEOVILLE - Four suspects were arrested for being in possession of suspected stolen property on 28 August at about 6pm on the corner of Joe Slovo and Yeo streets in Yeoville.

According to Constable Thabo Malatji of Yeoville police, a member of the public notified police of suspicious activities and said items were being offloaded from a vehicle and taken into a building by four men.

Malatji said, “Upon arrival, police discovered that the suspects were in possession of 35 solar panels and were unable to say where they had obtained them.”

According to Malatji, the suspects were arrested and taken to Yeoville Police Station for detention.

The men are expected to appear in Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court soon. “We thank the members of the community for the good [citizenship] they are displaying by reporting suspicious criminal activity in the area,” added Malatji.
