Man shot six times in park, dies

HILLBROW- A man was shot dead on the evening of 13 September at about 6.45pm in Primrose Park.

The victim and his friend were sitting in the park chatting when two men approached them. It is alleged that one of the suspects then pulled out a firearm and fired six shots at the victim.

Sergeant Mduduzi Zondo from Hillbrow Police Station said, “The man was declared dead on the scene.”

Zondo told the North Eastern Tribune that, at this stage, the motive for the killing was unclear and investigations were underway. The two men fled the scene after they shot the man.

Hillbrow police are looking for the two who were involved in the shooting. The friend of the man who was killed gave his statement to the police when they arrived on the scene.
