After killing the 23-year-old woman, the man jumped out of a window to his death.
According to Sergeant Mduduzi Zondo of Hillbrow police, the motive for the murder and subsequent suicide is not yet known.
“The boyfriend, whose age is not yet known, used sticks, a knife, a chain and a hammer when he brutally murdered his girlfriend,” he said. The weapons were recovered from the scene and will aid in police investigations.
“She died on the scene. The boyfriend jumped out of the window of the building and was declared dead on the scene by paramedics. Police investigations are underway and more information will be revealed as it comes in,” said Zondo.
