In one case, a man was caught in possession of drugs on 15 November during a stop-and-search operation by Yeoville police. Constable Thabo Malatji of Yeoville police said, “The police noticed a male walking on the street and when he saw the police he changed direction. They stopped and searched him and found drugs with a street value of R5 000.”
According to Malatji, the suspect was detained and is expected to appear in Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court soon.
Police conducted other raids on the streets of Yeoville in which six suspects were arrested for possession of dagga. All the suspects are expected to appear in Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court.
