Two men were arrested following a house robbery in Yeoville on Young Street on 3 December at about 4am.
Yeoville police were on patrol when they heard a person screaming for help from a residence and saw two males running away in different directions.
“The victim saw the police and informed them about what had happened. A manhunt was launched and both suspects were arrested, and one was found in possession of a knife,” said Constable Thabo Malatji of Yeoville Police Station.
A docket of armed robbery was registered and the suspects were detained at Yeoville Police Station. According to Malatji, a charge of possession of a dangerous weapon has been added.
The suspects are expected to appear in Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court soon.
