Two suspects bust for stolen property

YEOVILLE - Two males aged between 20 and 25 were arrested for possession of stolen property in Yeoville on 04 December at around 5:00 am.

Two men aged between 20 and 25 were arrested for possession of stolen property in Yeoville on 4 December at about 5am.

According to Yeoville police spokesperson, Constable Thabo Malatji, the police were on a routine patrol when they saw two men running down Cavendish Street.

“They tried to stop them, but the suspects kept on running. The police chased them and [eventually] apprehended them. They checked what they were holding and they found a car radio,” he said.

Malatji said the suspects could not explain where they acquired the radio. The suspects were arrested and detained at Yeoville Police Station for possession of stolen property and theft out of a motor vehicle.

The suspects are expected to appear at Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court soon.
