As the year draws to an end, Rosebank Police Station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Logan Govender reflected on the year that has been.
“The members of the station really worked hard this year and with such determination. I commend them for all their efforts this year,” he said.
He added that while the year held some challenges, the officers faced them with a positive attitude and created great communication with the community at large.
“The highlights of this year would be working closely with the Community Policing Forum (CPF), business owners in the area, security companies and community members in managing to keep crime stable,” he said.
While the Rosebank police will work over the festive period to ensure safety, Govender urged the community to remain vigilant over the holiday season and always take the necessary safety measures at all times, such as making sure doors are locked. And if away on holiday, ensure alarms are turned on and someone you trust is aware that you are away and will look after your home.
“I would not be able to name one hero for the year as this year is a culmination of hard work by community members, all my members, business owners and the CPF,” said Govender.
With the new year around the corner, he explained that he wished for more community members to get involved with the CPF and the station, and to get to know their neighbours better, as he believes this is where crime prevention starts.
