Nazeer Mohammed, a businessman who went missing four years ago, has left his parents struggling to make ends meet.
He was last seen at his car dealership on Jules Street in Jeppestown on 7 December 2012.
The sentencing of Robert Nembaka and Rotshidzwa Netshiavha, who were convicted in November last year for stealing Mohammed’s cellphone and two vehicles registered to his car dealership, will take place at Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court on 29 March.
Family of missing Nazeer Mohammed feels let down by court system
Mohammed’s mother, Shaieda Seepye said the past four years have been difficult for them and all they want is closure.
“My son was a breadwinner and was taking care of us. At that time, we did not even apply for pension and now we are forced to apply because we can’t make ends meet,” said the disheartened mother. She also added that Mohammed was a very charitable man and donated a lot of money and time to those in need.
“We are tired now. The case has been going on for a long time and we don’t know what happened to our only son,” Shaieda said.
Mohammed’s father, Abie Seepye, is equally heartbroken and said all they want to know is where their son is, as the whole situation is taking a toll on them as parents. “We were even prepared to drop the case. Just tell us where our son is,” Abie said.

The parents say they have left Mohammed’s room and his clothes as they were, hoping that one day their son will come home.
“Our health has gone right down. My husband is always sick and I am also getting sick and we just can’t take it anymore,” lamented Shaieda.
