According to Yeoville Police Spokesperson Constable Thabo Malatji , the victim was walking home when four males approached and demanded
her cell phone threatened her with a knife.
“They took the cell phone and ran away, a member of the community witnessed the incident and confronted the suspects., “ he said.
However Malatji said, two suspects ran away but the community member managed to apprehend one suspect. Before the police were contacted and the suspect was arrested.
Malatji added that further investigation led to the arrest of the other two suspects at the corner of Raleigh and Kenmere Street.
“The victim’s cell phone was also recovered in the suspects’ possession,” he said.
The three suspects are expected to appear at the Johannesburg magistrate court soon.
“We thank the members of the public on the cooperation they are giving the police,” he concluded
