The incident is alleged to have unfolded when, according to Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for Bramley Police Station, the complainant left her house for a short while to make a visit.
“The complainant alleges that when she left, everything was in order and all the windows and doors were closed,” Maphakela said.
“Upon returning 30 minutes later, she discovered that the burglar door was broken and the door left slightly open.”
She then went into the house and discovered that some of her valuables were missing and these included a laptop, a cellphone and jewellery.
Maphakela confirmed that no arrests had been made and that police were still looking for the suspects, who would face charges of housebreaking.
The case continues.
