Know where you are in the city

CBD – We’ll make sure you never get lost in Johannesburg by showing some street art.

We never want you to feel lost in the big city and that’s why City Buzz is helping you to identify your surroundings by the visible street art.

The street art that we found this week is one that can also be seen on one of the high traffic routes of the city. This piece of art was painted by a street artist who is the owner of a number of works in Joburg which are identified by his unique tag.

It can be found within walking distance of a social hub in the city and also near three major transportation routes, namely The Gautrain Park Station on Eloff Street, Park Station bus stop, as well as Wanderers Taxi Rank on Wanderers Street.

Do you know where this street art is?

You can find it on the corner of Wolmarans and Harrison streets in Johannesburg.

This area is on the outskirts of the popular development project that is frequented by a number of students, hipsters and people suffering with FOMO (fear of missing out), Braamfontein.

In close proximity to this street art, you can explore a number of small food and grocery stores as well as hair salons specialising in ethnic hair and cellphone repair stores.

Should you find yourself at the taxi rank, it may be a good time to visit the Johannesburg Art Gallery (Jag) on King George Street and check out this space which has been an integral part of the community for decades.

With hawkers rife with jewellery, clothes and cellphone accessories, the taxi rank also makes for a great place to do some shopping on a student budget – but remember to keep valuables concealed.

The city need not be a scary place if you travel smart and know where you are.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
