The Sandringham Women’s Network, a group established by the Sandringham Police Station, in collaboration with Johannesburg North Cluster community members, distributed pamphlets to motorists in the area on 24 march.
The operation took place on the corner of Wordsworth Road and Modderfontein Drive in Lombardy East, as well as the Swemmer Road and Modderfontein Drive intersection in Sandringham.
Spokesperson for Sandringham Police Station, Captain Mohlaume Mamabolo said the purpose of the network was to assist the police in various projects relating to crime prevention, including educating the community on the issue of women and child abuse.
Mamabolo said, “The network’s objectives are to deal with challenges and successes of Sandringham police and its partners in reducing crimes against women and children and implementing social crime prevention strategies.
“Fifty women from the Sandringham community came out to hand out pamphlets to motorists about crime prevention.”
