Youngsters from Gresswold Senior School got their business minds working when they participated in the annual Junior Achievement South Africa Company of the year competition.
The schoolchildren developed the business, The Last King and Queens, while taking part in the Junior Achievement South Africa entreprenership programme. Their business idea was multi-purpose desk containers that hold a variety of must-haves in class.
Those in Grade 10 to 12 took part in the programme which involves an intensive 33-hour-long workshop which runs over 12 weeks and helps the participants develop their own business.
The competition, which acknowledges the growing importance of entrepreneurship among young South Africans and their potential to contribute towards the country’s economic prosperity, will take place on 13 July in Johannesburg.
