WATCH: KZN Heritage Ensemble celebrates African heritage
JOBURG – KZN Heritage Ensemble delivers an enthralling performance.
Following a successful run at The Joburg Theatre, The KZN Heritage Ensemble, a 16-voice strong acapella outfit, dazzled audiences with their IJADU le Afrika performances.

As part of Africa Month celebrations at the theatre, the audience witnessed the stellar ensemble deliver riveting renditions of Amahubo, ancient songs sung by Abanguni in the late seventeenth and eighteenth centuries as a way to archive significant events in their communities.
The ensemble performances present a mixture of music and history by revisiting historical moments in South Africa’s heritage.

“Our job as musicians is to heal and unify the land,” said Mbuso Khoza, the KZN Heritage ensemble’s founder.
The performances and reactions in the audience highlighted a culture of love amongst Africans and showed the significance of giving in African heritage.
Khoza announced that the ensemble will soon change their name to Heritage Ensemble, stressing the need to learn other African cultures.
“It’s about embracing our differences,” Khoza said.
