Heineken South Africa brews Joburg entrepreneurs
JOBURG – 45 Joburg entrepreneurs selected for this year’s Orange Corners entrepreneurial programme.
Heineken South Africa and its partners have selected 45 entrepreneurs to take part in this year’s Orange Corners entrepreneurial programme. Initiated in 2016, the Johannesburg-based business incubator houses start-ups and provides them with workspaces, knowledge and training, mentorship and coaching.

Selected from over 400 applicants, the budding entrepreneurs, ranging from bed-making to the arts and crafts, are currently placed in Braamfontein, Diespsloot and Maboneng. Each hub has a unique focus and intent, Braamfontein targets innovative tech entrepreneurs and SME’s; Diepsloot is focused on supporting local entrepreneurs and the township economy, while the Maboneng programme focuses on growing established creative start-ups with an emphasis on accessing markets and finance.
Beyond a financial commitment to the programme, Heineken said it’s providing its highly-skilled, in-house talent to teach masterclasses on various business and brand-building disciplines.

Tutu Malinga, Heineken South Africa’s corporate affairs sustainability manager, said a large part of the brand’s identity is rooted in entrepreneurship.
“Our involvement in Orange Corners is part of our sustainability programme, Brewing a Better World, which is Heineken’s global commitment to contributing positively, and investing in communities we serve. Entrepreneurs, as we have witnessed in our own partnerships in South Africa, truly have the power to improve not only a nation’s prospects but those of the world too,” said Malinga.
