Crowdfunding for synagogue in Israel
JOHANNESBURG – Project 542 has launched a crowdfunding initiative to build a synagogue for the underprivileged in Israel.
A crowdfunding venture by Project 542 has been launched to raise money to build a synagogue and community centre for the underprivileged in Israel.
Spokesperson for the project Adir Alon said the memorial in Jerusalem Hills will take the form of a tree made of solid wood and copper at three metres high and six metres wide. Alon added, “On the memorial tree – an impressive art exhibit in itself – there are 4 870 fruit, each engraved with the names of Jews from all over the world.”
Admor Naftali Reuven Kornreich will bless each purchaser and issue a signed certificate of appreciation to each one.
Alon said, “This is an opportunity for all lovers of Israel to speak out in support of Israel, especially at this time, when our enemies seek to destroy. But we continue to build the land and spread the Torah.”
