King David School hosts 5th annual Wild Walk and Run
PARKTOWN – The Johannesburg Zoo proved to be an outstanding choice of venue as everyone enjoyed the facilities and attractions.
About 2 500 people participated in the King David Schools’ 5th annual Wild Walk and Run which aims to unite all five of their campuses.
Parents, grandparents, teachers and staff came together to take to the picturesque paths of the animal kingdom in support of this year’s event which was held, for the second time, at the Johannesburg Zoo in Parktown on 3 March. There was a 5km route for a walk and celebratory moments continued on the bandstand grass with funfair rides.
Communications and marketing manager for the schools Gaby Cohen said the venue was an outstanding choice as everyone enjoyed the wonderful facilities and attractions, adding that it was a great opportunity for all to enjoy the outdoors in a fun and healthy way.
“Parents are seen pushing their children in prams enjoying this family affair. That’s the reason we chose the Johannesburg Zoo as it is a beautiful, secure environment in which to walk and see animals whilst at the same time enjoying a gorgeous summer day outside,” said Cohen.
“The event was a great success and people loved the vibe and the energy, mixing with friends and families of all ages,” said Cohen.
Rabbi Kacev, director of the South Africa Board of Jewish Education said the annual event is a fantastic opportunity for King David families across all campuses to enjoy time together outdoors and a great morning was had by all.
