Anele Mdoda on an unstoppable mission to provide clean, safe toilets for all

Seasoned media personality, Anele Mdoda, is known for her big heart and giving spirit. Earlier in the year, the TV and radio host revealed that she was raising funds to build proper toilets in underserviced schools.

“Last year I partnered with Domestos to help raise awareness of the school sanitation crises for World Toilet Day. We launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money to build new toilets in schools. The crowdfunding campaign received cash donations from corporates and citizens that equipped us to break ground on our first build, at Thembalethu Primary School in Lusikisiki, Eastern Cape on 30 April 2019,” Mdoda said.

The maven has stayed true to her word and has built toilets in Thembalethu Primary school in Lusikisiki, in the Eastern Cape.

“The toilets are standing! Almost done and I popped in to check out how the developments are going and I am already on my next mission to install proper sanitation in two more schools,” Mdoda said in an Instagram post.

Last year, Mdoda was the campaign ambassador for Domestos/Unilever and World Toilet Day where she used her celebrity status to call upon everyone to contribute in raising R2.2 million after a successful campaign of raising R1.1 million the year before. She also urged people to donate to her Thundafund to keep her efforts going.

“Join me on my unstoppable mission to provide clean, safe toilets for all! This may not seem like a lot, but toilets in two more schools will change the lives of so many learners and give them a chance for a brighter future!” she said.
