Man found next to train tracks seriously injured

MAYFAIR – The man was found the lying next to the train tracks when the ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene.


A man sustained serious injuries after he was allegedly pushed from a moving train in Mayfair on 14 August.

He is believed to be 24 years old. 

According to Ineke van Huyssteen, ER24 spokesperson, when ER24 arrived at the scene before 5.30pm, they found the man lying next to the train tracks. Metro police officers were at the scene attending to the man.

“Upon further assessment, paramedics found that the man had sustained serious injuries. Advanced life support interventions were initiated and the patient was stabilised at the scene before being transported to the hospital for further medical care,” read a statement from ER24.

Van Huyssteen added that the exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known.
