National Children’s Theatre’s Moira Katz nominated for prestigious awards
PARKTOWN – The National Children's Theatre's Moira Katz has been nominated for the Europcar Women In Leadership Award.
Moira Katz, the CEO of the National Children’s Theatre in Parktown, has worked tirelessly to deliver on the theatre’s unwavering purpose – to transform young lives and grow societies’ next generation of leaders through vivid and engaging productions.
It is for this committed work that she has been nominated for the Absa Jewish Achiever Awards for leadership for 2021.
Under Katz’s leadership, the theatre has won many prestigious Naledi Awards. Katz has also been singled out as a Paul Harris Rotary Fellow, and received the USIBA Sports, Arts and Culture Award – both, for taking theatre to rural areas.
During these challenging pandemic times, she created an outdoor theatre on the theatre’s premises, which has been running most successfully since November 2020.
She has also been instrumental in orchestrating outstanding performance arts classes, original and instructive musicals, regular holiday camps, and educational and immersive after-school programmes.
