New platform for women aged 50 plus

ILLOVO – Through the website, readers can expect articles on wellness, menopause, beauty, recipes, adventures, and of course shopping and wine.

A new website designed to help women who are older or nearing 50 years of age to find products that are appropriate for them was launched at Pillow Talk in Illovo on November 6.

The newly launched 50andMe concept and website were created by Marna Grobler. Her vision was to create a space for women to find resources, and connect and interact as they grow older, so they can feel fabulous no matter what age they were.

“The event was a great success with more than 40 ladies attending. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, with 100% of participants expressing favourable thoughts about it,” Grobler said.

“The purpose of the event was to launch the 50andMe website platform. We wanted like-minded women to meet up, interact, connect, and share their experiences, while enjoying some retail therapy at Natasha McKenzie’s store, Pillow Talk.”

The website features articles about wellness, menopause, beauty, recipes, adventures, and of course shopping and wine.

Grobler hoped that the platform would create a space where women could pursue their passions and know that they needed not conform to the opinions of others or the varying standards of society.

“The event involved the community and suppliers in an innovative way. Networking opportunities were created and successful relations were built.”
