Organisation needs tins for Mandela Day

Parkhurst NPO appeals for donations of food items for families in need within informal settlements.

A non-profit organisation based in Parkhurst is asking for help with Nelson Mandela International Day collections. Bet on Better would like to collect 6 700 tins of food for Mandela Day on July 18.

Donations may include canned food items such as beans, tuna, salmon, vegetables, fruits, pilchards, and jam for families in need within informal settlements.

Founder of Bet on Better Nanine Levitz said, “One tin will be a meal for two adults who don’t have hot water or any water, electricity, warm bed, things we have every day.”
